Still Waiting for Your Stimulus Check? Here’s How to Track It in 2025

If you’re still wondering where your stimulus check is or why it hasn’t arrived yet, you’re not alone.

Even as the government rolls out payments of up to $1,400 per person, many Americans are still checking their mailboxes and bank accounts without success.

With more than 127 million payments already issued, the IRS has confirmed that the distribution process is ongoing—and yes, that means there’s still time for your payment to arrive.

But to clear up confusion and delays, the IRS has launched a digital solution designed to help you track your payment in real time.

Meet “Get My Payment”—Your IRS Stimulus Tracking Tool

To make things easier, the IRS has expanded access to a free tool called “Get My Payment.” This secure online platform allows you to:

  • Check if your stimulus check has already been processed or sent

  • See the date of deposit or mailing

  • Identify if there’s an issue—like a returned check or incorrect address

  • Confirm whether more information is needed to complete the payment

To use the tool, you’ll need to provide:

  • Your Social Security Number

  • Date of birth

  • Mailing address from your last tax return

  • Optionally, a copy of your most recent tax return to verify details

Based on your input, the system will display one of three messages:

  1. Payment sent, with the date it was processed

  2. Payment pending, meaning it’s still being scheduled

  3. More information needed, which typically means the IRS couldn’t deliver your check

If your payment was returned or delayed, now’s the time to act. Update your mailing address or bank details with the IRS to avoid further holdups.

Payments Still Ongoing Through Mid-2025

While most checks have already been distributed, some are still in the pipeline.

The IRS has confirmed that the distribution will continue through the first half of 2025, with the possibility of extending through September 2025 if needed.

Whether by direct deposit, paper check, or prepaid debit card, payments will keep rolling out.

But don’t wait too long—verifying your information now can help avoid missing out entirely.

Not Everyone Gets the Same Amount

Stimulus payments aren’t one-size-fits-all. The amount you receive depends on your filing status and number of dependents:

  • Up to $1,400 per individual

  • Up to $2,800 for couples filing jointly

  • Additional $1,400 per dependent

That’s why it’s crucial to check that your tax return includes the correct number of dependents and accurate banking details to ensure fast, full payment.

Don’t Leave Money on the Table

With ongoing economic pressures and rising living costs, every eligible dollar matters.

Everyday expenses are through the roof. Tariffs don’t help either. Prices are up, but help’s still out there. Explore your options today!

If you haven’t received your stimulus check—or aren’t sure where it stands—take advantage of the IRS Get My Payment tool now.

It’s the fastest and most secure way to remove doubt, fix errors, and make sure your money finds its way to you.
