Coming August 29: Early SSI Payment for September 2025

If you receive Supplemental Security Income (SSI) last August 01, mark your calendar, you'll get the next SSI payment in August 29, and none in September.

Here's what you need to know to plan ahead and stay on budget.

For your Social Security Payment Schedule, check it here.

August 2025 SSI Payment Dates

  • August 1 – Your regular monthly SSI payment for August.

  • August 29 – Your September SSI payment, delivered early.

Don't miss these multiple benefits for August 2025:

Why Two Payments in August?

This happens when the first of the month falls on a weekend or federal holiday.

In 2025, September 1 is Labor Day (Monday), a federal holiday, so the Social Security Administration (SSA) will issue payments early on Friday, August 29.

You’ve earned certain benefits! Make sure you’re getting them here.

What This Means for You

  • No payment in September — you will have already received it in August.

  • Budget wisely — your second August check needs to cover September's expenses.

  • This is not a bonus — it's an early disbursement of next month’s benefit.

Tips to Stay on Track

  • Mark the date: August 29

  • Set aside funds from the second check for next month’s bills

  • Use direct deposit for faster access to your payments

  • Check your My Social Security account to track your deposit

  • Questions? Call SSA at 1-800-772-1213
